FUZZY'S FUZZY VIEW

Well in the absence of volunteers, we'll stick to the standard format of my forming an opinion of the game from the commentary.

Two 100% records, one of either type remained quite rightly intact today as Rovers offered little at Pride Park.

As I was screaming at my computer, in fact both of them because the Player sites were not working, the game got underway and Rovers immediately  won a corner which Naylor headed over the bar.  The attacking start was a real false dawn though and on 6 minutes Derby had the lead.  A corner from Ben Davies went to the back post where KEVIN KILBANE beat Gary Woods.

The first half continued with Rovers unable to find any of the continuity and free flowing football that they had found in the previous game.  Barnes crossed for Lalkovic but the young Slovakian couldn't get a toe on the ball.  From the quickly taken corner, Oster bent the ball from range over the bar.

Derby were offering very little at this point and Donny were matching them!  Barnes broke into the box and put in a good cross which O'Brien headed over the bar for a corner although he was under no real pressure to do so.  The resulting corner eventually came out to Gillett who unleashed another dissappointing effort.

So a poor first half ground to an end with neither side showing any fluency.  A poor game at this point.

After the break it took Derby just 30 seconds to double their lead. It was another far-post cross from Ben Davies but this time is was STEVE DAVIES who potted it with another header giving Woods no chance.

Rovers were shell-shocked and Derby looked like they were going to run riot.  The Davieses (if that's the plural) combined again when Ben's shot cannoned off Naylor and Steve hit the rebound narrowly over.  Then Croft got a run on Friend and the Rovers' captain was forced to bring him down.  The free-kick was played to Bryson who struck it narrowly wide.

At the other end, a moment typical of Rovers' attacking.  Barnes did well on the right and got a decent cross in but it was too high for the only player who had made a run into the box.  Lalkovic had shown some lively moments on his debut produced Rovers' best moment when he made a little shimmy before blasting just over the bar.

Sadly, Rovers' other big loan signing was conspicuous by his absence in the commentary and was substituted for Kyle Bennett on the hour.  And 10s after Bennett was on the field, Derby made in three.  BEN DAVIES was given far too much space to turn and shoot from 18 yards and it was certainly game over, if any Rovers' fans could have been in any doubt.

Derby did need a goaline clearance to keep their clean sheet in tact, but it was an easy one from a weak Gillett volley.

Derby probably won't have an easier win this season.  They didn't play like a side with a 100% record, but they didn't need to.

For Rovers, it was really poor stuff.  Brown was again left with nobody running beyond him and all efforts came from range.  Rovers fans often talk about plan A's and the lack of a plan B.  The truth is the team need to turn up to put any plan into action.  Today, they simply didn't.  Four defeats from four games.  Apparently, James Hayter could be back on Saturday.  For Rovers, that cannot come a moment too soon.
